Bootable system after disk clone
Hi, What I have attempted to do and failed is remove an 250GB NVME drive from a working Windows machine and put in a NVME-to-USB dock. Then put a 4TB NVME drive in another NVME-to-USB dock attach them both to another Windows machine that has Partition Assistant installed and do a complete disk clone. I expected to be able to them remove the 4TB and place in first Windows machine and have it boot into Windows? Instead I get blue screen with error.
The only way I can get it to work is to install AOMEI PA on the customers computer, attach the 4TB drive in the NVME-to-USB dock and leave the 250GB plugged into the motherboard, then do a disk clone, then remove the AOMEI software afterwards?
I don't understand why a exact clone is not bootable when performed with the two drives in USB docks? Am I missing something or is this software limited in that way? Or do I need different software?
Any advice much appreciated...
