What does Backupper really cost?

I am looking for backup software for my Windows 11 laptop. I see that there is a Standard version which is free and a Professional version which says it is "from $39.95". I have two questions that I did not see answers to on the website: 1. Is this per month or per year? I cannot believe it is a one-time cost. 2. What does "from" mean? What you cause the price to increase? Are either of these documented somewhere?

    Ok. I clicked on the Buy Now button and I see that the $39.95 is an annual cost. There is also a lifetime plan for an extra $10 charge for 1 TB of cloud storage. I assume that this means that without that extra charge, the backup is to some storage device that I have connected to my laptop, like to a USB drive, right?

    I would prefer that the backup be to the cloud. USB drives can fail and if we have a fire of a theft, I could lose my laptop and my backup. What is the cost if I need more than 1 TB?

    And is there any cloud storage with the Standard version?
