Scheduling a monthly full backup to work with a daily incremental
I am backing up several computers to a NAS. I have scheduled incremental backups running nightly. At the beginning of each month I currently make a new full backup from the scheduled backup manually but I don't want it to remain a manual process. If I create a second scheduled task to do a monthly full backup will the incremental backups currently scheduled work with the new full monthly backup? Or will they only work with the full backup run manually from the incremental schedule?
If I understand right, when the newly scheduled monthly backup runs it should set the archive flag so that the next incremental would work with the new full backup even though they are separate scheduled tasks. Then I could delete any incremental backups that were produced before the new scheduled full backup, Is that correct?
