Backerupper will not wake the computer

I have used Backerupper for years without a problem but I recently purchased a new PC and Backerupper will not wake the computer to run. Task scheduler says the task was denied by the administrator. I am using the built-in facility of Aomei to create the script. As soon as I manually wake the computer, everything works fine. I did not have this issue on my other PC. Both old and new PCs are Windows 11.

  • jwbraun Please check the below items:

    1. Please check if you enable "fast startup" mode. If yes, please disable the "fast startup" option under Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Power Options\System Settings.

    2. Please check if your computer is powered off. If yes, it is unable to wake the computer up.

    3. If you are using a laptop, please check if the lid of the laptop is open. Please do not close the lid of the Laptop.

    4. If you use Windows Task Scheduler to run backups, please open the Windows Task Scheduler, then find the schedule task in the Task and Scheduler library. Then right-click the schedule-> Properties -> Condition to see if the option "Wake the computer to run this task" is checked. If not, please tick and test again.

  • AI Artisan:
I have verified that Wake on LAN is enabled. All of the Windows updates and UEFI updates are installed. There is no CSM available in the UEFI boot options. I have reinstalled Backupper.
    1) UEFI-non CSM

  • Admin-
    1) fast startup is disabled
    2) The computer was in sleep mode - not turned off.
    3) It is a desktop
    4) I have tried using the task scheduler and the AOMEI service option. Both have had the Wake the computer to run the task selected.

The reason task scheduler gives for not running the task is that "It was denied by the Administrator".  Administrator is shown as the author of the script but the task is trying to be run by SYSTEM.
