What should you do when running computer in AOMEI Partition Assistant PreOS mode?

This article applies to: all versions of AOMEI Partition Assistant.

Introduction:

You may receive this error code while your computer is running in AOMEI Partition Assistant PreOS mode. This error occurs, because the disks and partitions enumerated in windows vary from those in PreOS mode under the circumstance of moving data or changing connected devices.

  1. The program is executing. Please wait…

  2. The operation abort! Information code: 12

  3. Description: Disk environment has changed and not consistent. Please reboot and again run the software to retry.

  4. Press any key to restart.

This error occurs because the disks and partitions enumerated in windows vary from those in PreOS mode under the circumstance of moving data or changing connected devices (eg: There was a USB storage inserted in windows while in PreOS mode the USB storage has been removed.).

Solutions:

  1. Do not insert or remove external storages during the operation.

  2. If the operation in PreOS mode aborts, and the operation is not finished, you will be given this error when the computer starts next time. In this case, you can just press any key to reboot your computer to finish the operation. Then run Partition Assistant to load the changed disks or partitions to prevent this error from happening again after login Windows.

  3. If the issue persists, you may create a bootable media with Partition Assistant and finish the operation under Windows PE mode.

  4. When reboot from the destination disk after copying disk or migrating system with Partition Assistant, you may also be given this error. You can just press any key to reboot your computer to solve it. Then run Partition Assistant to load the changed disks or partitions to prevent this error from happening again after login Windows.
