We know that Windows 11 has innovated many key parts of the system, such as the start menu, control center and even the taskbar.

Now, the revision of Win11 has finally moved to the task manager. Windows Task Manager has always been regarded as one of the most useful tools in the Windows system, but its UI has not changed much since Windows 8.

Many people expect that the task manager can also be redesigned in Win11, which is consistent with the design language of other system components of Win11.

In the Win11 22H2 Sun Valley 2 version update, Win11's task manager is really about to undergo substantial changes, and its new UI has also gained support for dark mode.

It is understood that Microsoft is internally testing the new UI of the Windows 11 Task Manager, using XAML to refactor this important tool.

As you can see in the screenshot, the new version of the Task Manager uses a modern UI, which is composed from XAML and WinUI, but its main code base has not changed.

In this way, the new design of the task manager is built on the existing foundation, and in the final release version, there may also be an option to restore the classic look.

The new task manager has the same usage as the current version, such as the process, performance and other functions tabs have not changed.

The current tabbed feature layout of the Task Manager seems to be just right, but Microsoft may also be designing a new layout where the Processes and other feature tabs will appear in the menu on the left side of the app.

This menu will hold options for processes, performance, services, and settings.
