Can you delete the apps built in Windows 10?

After installing a Windows system (such as Windows 10), some users will choose to keep all of the applications that come with the system, but for those who don't have much memory on their computers, they may want to uninstall some of the apps to free up storage space.

Especially in these years, there are more and more apps come with Windows OS. And without the help of third-party tools or PowerShell command, it is even difficult for ordinary users to uninstall some pre-installed apps.

Fortunately, in the last few updates, Microsoft has released some of the restrictions, allowing users to easily uninstall some of the pre-installed apps, even Paint and Notepad, which have been in the Windows ecosystem for a long time.

However, the "core apps" like Your Phone and Microsoft Edge browser still cannot be uninstalled in the usual way. This has to do with how apps interact with operating system. The apps that come pre-installed with Windows 10 may be linked to other apps on the system, and forcibly removing one of them could affect the experience of all the devices and services associated with it.

Of course, you can still uninstall some of the less important apps.

Which apps can't be deleted

Some users may worry that deleting some applications may affect their daily use or even cause system crashes, and this worry is justified. Here is the list of some applications that you should not delete.

Windows driver packages

Those applications named as Windows driver packages cannot be uninstalled. They are drivers that are required by the Windows system or certain external devices, and uninstalling them will cause the system to not work properly or certain external devices to not work.

Apps with "Intel" or "AMD"

The programs with these words are usually related to the processor and if uninstalled will make the processor not work properly.

Apps with "Microsoft"

For example, programs named Microsoft Visual C++ are runtime environments, if you uninstall them, software or games that depend on these runtime environments will not run. Another example is Microsoft office, after uninstallation, you cannot use the most popular office software like Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

The above are some suggestions for Windows 10 pre-installed applications, but in practice, you should still make a choice according to your own situation. Before uninstalling an app, it is best to search for its specific functions.
