KB5010342 is a security-focused update, but it also introduces some non-security fixes. One of them is the ability to get surround sound to work smoothly when playing multimedia content through the Microsoft Edge browser. Also fixed is an issue that caused Bluetooth devices to stop working when you tried to connect them. Since last month's optional update was pretty huge, there are a lot of fixes for non-security issues in this update.
After installing this cumulative update, the Windows 10 21H2 feature update will upgrade to Build 19044.1526; the Windows 10 Windows 10 21H1 feature update will upgrade to Build 19043.1526; and the Windows 10 20H2 feature update will upgrade to Build 19042.1526.
Microsoft has ended support for Windows 10 Version 2004, so you won't get this update unless you have the Enterprise or Education version of the OS. If you're using Windows 11, your device will get the KB5010386 cumulative update.
According to the changelog, Microsoft has fixed several security issues and a bug where a feature called "Lightweight Directory Access Protocol" may not perform its operation if the "SamAccountName and UserAccountControl" property is detected.
Similarly, Microsoft is introducing a new feature that will provide direct access to Microsoft Edge profiles in the News and interests stream. You can always manage profiles directly from Edge, but there will be a new shortcut for those who prefer to launch it through Windows 10's News and interests.
Microsoft has made changes to Windows 10 to address printing issues when using USB printing on version 2004 or later. Another bug was that the application stopped working if you entered text using Chinese IME, this has been fixed.
