Restored System over network doesn´t boot

edited September 2015 in AOMEI Products Support

Hello,

I bought the Technican Pro Version of Backupper.

I made an Image of a Windows 7 syspreped System by booting from a USB Pe Image.

The image was done on an netwwork share.

Now I changed the hard drive with an new one and tried to restore the System, booting again from the PE Image and restored the system from the image on the network share.

The result was a non-booting image.

I tried disk backup, system backup and universal restore, booting from usb or pxe, every time the same result.

The solution was to put the Image on an USB drive an restore the system from this drive.

This wored in the case.

I reproduced this with three different systems, in no case the restore from the network share worked.

It seems the universal restore funktion didn´t work over network.

This is important to me, because we want to deploy our system images to new systems from am central point.

Someone has an idea on this, is it really an bug in backupper?

Best regards,

Andy

  • While restoring from a network share in the Information Windows shows up the message

    "Information Code:2

Failed to assign a drive Letter for the Volume, please manually..."

While by a restore from the USB Drive the Universal Restore Funktion takes place and no error message appears
